Vashon Youth Baseball and Softball

Developing Island kids as both athletes and persons

Clinics are FREE but registration is required.

Younger players must turn 4 years old by February 1 in order to participate in the winter clinics.

Please email [email protected] with any questions.

Do you have a former VYBS baseball or softball player who now plays at Vashon High School? They can volunteer at the clinics to earn hours toward their graduation volunteer requirement AND to be considered for a VYBS Scholarship upon graduation!

🥎 January & February 2026 - Friends in Fastpitch clinics (Softball)

VYBS is partnering with Vashon High School for a NEW fun, dynamic opportunity to keep girls playing softball! High School players will mentor younger girls in grades 3-8 as they practice the fundamentals and learn new skills.

For the clinic schedules and more information, click to read about Friends in Fastpitch and the broader community effort to SOS - Save Our Softball!

WHAT TO BRING:
Please send your player with a water bottle, snack, athletic close-toed shoes (no sandals/crocs, dress shoes, or boots), and their softball/baseball glove. If your player doesn't yet have their own glove, VYBS will provide extras (already broken-in!)  that players can borrow for the day, the season, or take home for their own.

âš¾ February 2026 - Throwing, Pitching, & Catching Clinics (Baseball)

Get out of the wet weather and join us in the VHS Gym to warm up your arm! Younger players (ages 4-8) learn and practice proper throwing mechanics, catching with a glove, fielding grounders, and throwing safety/awareness. Older players (ages 9-14) improve their throwing and grounder-fielding skills, practice pitching off an elevated mound, and may practice the catcher position. Outside the gym, players practice catching pop-flys.

Clinics will run in February 2026 at the VHS Gym:
  • Feb. 7 (Saturday)
  • Feb. 15 (Sunday)
  • Feb. 22 (Sunday)
Please attend the session corresponding with your player's age or division:
  • 12pm - 1pm: Shetland & Pinto (ages 4-8 / grades PreK - 2)
  • 1pm - 2pm: Mustang, Bronco, & Pony (ages 9-14 / grades 3-8)

WHAT TO BRING:
Please send your player with a water bottle, athletic close-toed shoes (no sandals/crocs, dress shoes, or boots), and their softball/baseball glove. If your player doesn't yet have their own glove, VYBS will provide extras (already broken-in!)  that players can borrow for the day, the season, or take home for their own.

⚾🥎 March 2026 - Batting Clinics (Baseball & Softball)

Join us at the CES Covered Play Area where we drop the batting cages and pick up our bats and helmets! Younger players (ages 4-8) learn and practice their batting stance, swing mechanics, and safety/awareness by using the tee, practicing soft-toss, and (depending on player age) hitting from live throwing in the batting cage. Older players (ages 9-14) will refine their swing on the tee, exercise their eye-tracking with soft-toss, and hit from live throws in the batting cage.

Clinics will run in March 2026 at the Chautauqua Elementary Covered Play Area:
  • Mar. 1 (Sunday)
  • Mar. 8 (Sunday)
  • Mar. 15 (Sunday; includes Player Evaluation Day for Pinto, Mustang, & Bronco divisions)
Please attend the session corresponding with your player's age or division:
  • 12pm - 1pm: Shetland & Pinto (ages 4-8 / grades PreK - 2)
  • 1pm - 2pm: Mustang & Bronco (ages 9-12 / grades 3-6)
  • 2pm - 3pm: Pony (ages 13-14 / grades 7-8) and Softball (ages 8-14 / grades 3-8)
WHAT TO BRING:
Please send your player with a water bottle, athletic close-toed shoes (no sandals/crocs, dress shoes, or boots), and their softball/baseball glove
If your player doesn't yet have their own glove, VYBS will provide extras (already broken-in!)  that players can borrow for the day, the season, or take home for their own. VYBS provides helmets and bats for all players, but kids are more than welcome to use their own. We also encourage players to wear batting gloves, but that's up to personal preference and players must provide their own.
